Ok I leave for Spain in a week! I leave from DFW on September 25th! I have a 6 hour layover in Newark which I am not too thrilled about but it made the plane ticket way cheaper so it all works out :)
I still do not understand after all the times I procrastinated through High School and College and swore I would never wait until the last minute to do anything ever AGAIN and here I am...1 week until Spain and I have not packed a darn thing! However I did buy myself a nifty little digital luggage scale :) check it out below.
The good thing about international flights is that you get one bag of luggage free and you pay for the second. Now the bad part is my luggage weighs 18 pounds and that is with no clothing, shoes etc, nothing in it and it weighs 18 pounds! That is a bit of a problem. I am bringing two suitcases, I wanted to bring three but seeing as how once I get to Madrid I have to pack my bags into taxi go to the train station and lug all my luggage with me around the train station then load it on the train and then pack it in another taxi to take me to my hotel once I get to Seville. I had one suitcase last time I was in Spain and I had huge blisters on my hands from dragging my heavy luggage. Ergo I think two suitcases should be sufficient. Plus Seville has excellent shopping sooo I will definitely be buying some clothes. H&M and Stradavarius (Traditions to all my Spain amigos! jaja) will be my go to shopping stores!
So I had a bit of an anxiety attack/small breakdown yesterday morning. It really hit me yesterday that I will be gone for 8 months with the possibility of not coming home at all. Also the intense fear of teaching. I'm so nervous but I am excited to be teaching little kids but I really do hope everything works out great! Anyways once all those thoughts smacked me in the face yesterday I had the breakdown. But I'm all good now but I am preparing myself for a even bigger one once I am at the airport on Sunday.
Ok its Sunday and I REALLY need to get to packing! Maybe I can get at least halfway through this evening (seriously doubt it but I am being optimistic)
Look for my next post when I finally arrive in SEVILLLAAAA!
Here is a little travel quote that I adore! I got it from Lord of the Rings (don't judge me cause I'm a nerd haha!)
"It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to"
Adios! Besitos!
